Ladies and gentlemen, family, and friends,
Today, we gather to celebrate the life of an extraordinary woman, Teresa Cesvette—a woman
who filled the world with laughter, love, and light. Teresa was more than a wife, mother,
grandmother, sister, and friend; she was a source of unwavering joy and positivity to everyone
she met. Her smile was infectious, her laughter boundless, and her giving spirit unparalleled.
Teresa’s journey began in Linton, Cambridgeshire, as the cherished daughter of Moira and
Douglas and a loving sister to Steven, Brynley and Janet, daughter of Douglas’s second
marriage. Growing up, Teresa was a vibrant and playful soul, often competing with her brothers
in spirited ways. Her giggling, a constant hallmark of her joy, sometimes led to playful
reprimands—especially at the dinner table, where her laughter often disrupted the household.
As a young girl, Teresa was introspective, referring to herself as “swinger girl” as seen in the
cartoon Recess who loved observing the world from the swing in her garden or a nearby
window. Her quiet moments were often spent with her beloved pets, forming bonds that
reflected her innate ability to nurture and care for others. She attended Longsands Senior
School in St. Neots, where she didn’t always enjoy the routine of education but found comfort in her close friends, with whom she shared laughter and mischievous memories.
At 15, Teresa embarked on her first job at the Co-Op, where she reluctantly attended college to
improve her math skills—a decision she later appreciated, as it honed her incredible talent for
creating and crafting. Teresa could look at any piece of fabric and instinctively understand how
to turn it into something beautiful. It was a gift she carried throughout her life, using it to create clothes, curtains, and so much more for those she loved.
Her creative journey led her to work in her brother Brynley’s record shop, where her passion for
music thrived. With her own distinctive style—complete with diamonds and pearls—she became part of a lively social scene, enjoying nights filled with R&B and laughter at venues like Ronells
in Cambridge.
It was at Ronells that fate brought Teresa and Colin together. That night, neither had planned go, but as Cupid often does, he had other plans. Through a series of glances across a mirrored
column, their connection was instant. Teresa captivated Colin not just with her beauty but with
her warmth, wit, and charm. Together, they built a life full of shared love, music, and endless
laughter.
Teresa’s professional life was as dynamic as her personal one. From her role as a corsetiere at
Contessa’s to her later ventures as a balloon artist, nail designer, and even a DJ known as
“Sweet T,” Teresa poured her heart and soul into everything she did. Her creativity knew no
bounds, whether she was decorating weddings with balloons, painting intricate designs on nails, or dazzling crowds with her music. She was fearless in embracing new challenges, often
leading the way in trends before they became popular.
Her greatest pride, however, was her family. Teresa was a devoted mother to Paris, Tianna,
Kiara, and her adopted son Marcus, and a loving grandmother to Correll, who fondly called her
“T-Ma.” She loved playing her role as auntie Teresa to her niece and nephews. On Fern’s
birthday we still recall the day out with her daughters Paris and Kiara, sister and Fern having a
real girlie day out buying makeup and clothes an all day event. She was fiercely protective,
endlessly supportive, and deeply proud of her children and grandson, always putting their
happiness first.
Teresa’s life was filled with adventure and creativity, but it was also marked by challenges that
she faced with courage and grace. Even in her final days, diagnosed with cancer, she showed
remarkable strength. True to her nature, Teresa spent her last moments laughing and sharing
joy with her family, protecting them from her pain with the same love and selflessness that
defined her life.
As we reflect on Teresa’s incredible journey, it is clear that she touched countless lives with her
love, affection, and unyielding positivity. Her laughter, her radiant smile, and her generous spirit
will remain with us always. Teresa’s legacy is one of love—a love that will continue to inspire
and comfort us as we carry her memory in our hearts.
Teresa Cesvette was, and always will be, a shining light in the lives of those fortunate enough to
know her. She may be gone from our sight, but her spirit will forever live on in the laughter she
shared, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely.
Rest peacefully, Teresa. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Teresa’s Poem
Teresa, a soul so gentle and kind,
A heart full of love, a brilliant mind.
Born to laughter, a beacon of cheer,
Lighting up lives, to all held dear.
From swinging in gardens, her gaze on the sky,
To stitching creations that caught every eye.
Her hands crafted beauty, her spirit was bold,
A gift for the world, a joy to behold.
In music, she found her rhythm, her song,
With Colin by chance, a love lifelong.
Through glances and smiles, their story began,
A bond unbroken, building a forever plan.
A mother so proud, protective, and true,
Paris, Tianna, Kiara, and Marcus too.
Her love knew no bounds, her care without end,
A mother, a guide, a lifelong friend.
Sweet T, the DJ, balloons in the air,
Costumes with glitter, designed with flair.
She met every challenge, her laughter the key,
Finding the joy in all she could be.
Her warmth and her spirit filled every space,
A smile, a hug, a comforting grace.
In work and in play, she shone like a star,
Her presence felt deeply, no matter how far.
Though cancer came swiftly, its grip unfair,
Teresa faced it with courage and care.
Her laughter endured, her love stayed the same,
Now free of pain, beyond life’s frame.
Teresa, we miss you, our hearts bear the cost,
A mother, a wife, a friend we have lost.
But your light will guide us, your love ever near,
In memories cherished, in smiles and in tears.
Rest now in peace, your spirit takes flight,
A star in the heavens, a beacon of light.
Forever remembered, forever adored,
In the hearts of those who you’ve endlessly warmed.
